Image of The Week: Cuba – Havana’s Buildings in Decay

Whilst visiting Cuba in the late nineties with a friend, I took this image in central Havana. It’s a pretty typical scene, with big old American cars parked on the side of the road, because fuel was so expensive that you would hardly see them being driven. The buildings were also in decay, and in need of immediate repair. If and when the American government allows mass tourism to this city once again, and hard currency begins to flow. It will become a tourist mecca, and the upside for tourism to Cuba, in my opinion is massive.
