Image of The Week: Iran – Persian Soldiers of Persepolis

This image was taken during our time in Iran, back in 1995. Liza and I were making our way overland from Europe to Australia, and spent 3 weeks (as long as our visa would allow) crossing the country. Our time in Iran was memorable, with its rich culture and friendly people, we would have loved to have stayed longer. Persepolis is a UNESCO World Heritage site about 70km outside of the city of Shiraz. It was great to spend the day amongst the ruins and gain an insight into Persian history. The other amazing thing, was that except for two other people, we had the whole complex to our selves.

Hey Andi, Yeas Iran is a great place to visit. We were treated like rock stars during our whole time in the country. The people of Iran were generally curious of us, and were warm and welcoming.

Hey Ciki, Had a laugh at your comment. Another one for you, check out the size of their legs. They don’t look like they have done much marching. Thanks for stopping by.
